Procedure Details:

Procedure: the performance of reshaping and raising sagging breasts. This procedure is done by repositioning the tissue and nipples and by reducing any excess skin.

Length of the procedure: 1-2 hours
General anesthesia is given.

Patients can undergo this procedure as an outpatient or inpatient, but it is usually performed as an outpatient procedure.

Recovery period: most patients are back to work in 1-2 weeks. Strenuous activity is can be resumed in about a month, and the fading of scars may take several months or more.

Temporary side effects: discomfort, numbness, dry skin, bruising, as well as swelling of the breasts.

Risks included: infections, loss of feeling, disproportioned nipples, and scarring.
How long do the results typically last?

Results can last longer if breast implants are inserted during the procedure, although pregnancy, aging and weight changes can shorten the duration of results.
