Do the wrinkles in your brow give you a constant angry or tired look? Want to look a few years younger? Here’s what you should know about receiving your brow lift (browplasty) procedure from facial cosmetic surgeon, Gregory J. Liebscher, MD, FACS, of Colorado Springs:
A brow lift, or forehead lift, is a cosmetic procedure that removes excess skin and fat, while tightening the muscles of the forehead. This procedure is successful at correcting any sagginess between the eyebrows. Though it’s not necessary, a facelift is usually performed with a brow and forehead lift in order to deliver better results, and to improve the entire face’s appearance.
Browplasty generally has better and much longer lasting results than injectables such as BOTOX® Cosmetic. The incisions are small and virtually unnoticeable. The location of the incisions may differ for men and women.
Gregory J. Liebscher, MD, FACS, is an experienced and highly-skilled cosmetic surgeon who works towards improving the appearance of his patients. For all cosmetic facial procedures, Dr. Liebscher delivers natural and age reducing results in a safe manner.

Different Types of Brow Lift Procedures
Currently, there are two different types of forehead lift procedures. The first procedure is the classic forehead lift, while the second one is an endoscopic forehead lift.
Classic brow lift: the begins by one ear and continues across the patient’s forehead towards the other ear; this type of incision is also known as a coronal incision. For this procedure, the surgeon will remove any excess skin or tissue and resurface the forehead and eyebrows so that they look tighter and more youthful.
Endoscopic brow lift: 3-5 incisions are made in the scalp. These incisions are small incisions that are less than an inch in length. The main difference between the classic and endoscopic lift is the size of the incisions. Once the incisions are made, the surgeon takes the endoscope and inserts it into the incisions so he or she can see the tissues and muscles underneath the skin’s surface. This procedure allows the surgeon to remove any unnecessary fat or skin so that the eyebrows and the forehead are realigned at a higher level.
Who Is a Good Candidate for a Brow Lift?
Anyone that is unhappy with furrows or frown lines in their forehead may want to consider a lift. These flaws can be inherited or a side effect of stress. The largest demographic of people getting an eyebrow/face lift are those 40-60 years of age. This procedure is great, as it can erase the signs of aging.
Procedure Details
This procedure helps reduce furrowed and frown lines, forehead creases, droopy eyebrows and saggy eyelids. In order to achieve those results, a surgeon will remove any excess tissue so that the forehead skin is tightened and the muscles are altered. This procedure can be done as a classic brow lift procedure, as well as a endoscopic procedure. For this procedure, it is common for people to get an eyelid lift surgery or facelift done as well.
Time frame/anesthesia:
A brow lift is usually done in about 1-2 hours, and is done under general anesthesia.
These types of procedures are usually done as an outpatient procedure, but sometimes it may call for an inpatient procedure.

Learn more about risk factors:
It’s important for every patient to realize that each procedure is different and that no two procedures are the same. Each patient may have different reactions, side effects and even results. Undergoing any surgery increases the risks for blood clotting, infections and reactions to medication.
