LATISSE® Eyelash Treatment

A Colorado Springs woman with successful Latisse Eyelashes treatment

Do you suffer from thin or inadequate eyelashes? Want thicker, longer eyelashes? Patients looking to enhance the appearance and add length to their eyelashes are in luck. Here’s what you should know about a cosmetic eyelash treatment called LATISSE®:

LATISSE® for Eyelashes (latisse.com) is a solution that is prescribed by physicians in order to treat hypotrichosis. LATISSE® helps make eyelashes stronger, longer, thicker and darker in color. This solution helps prolong the growth phase of eyelashes and has been known for improving the appearance of eyelashes in just two months and can be administered by aesthetic professionals such as board-certified plastic surgeon, Dr. Greg Liebscher, in Colorado Springs.

Hypotrichosis is a condition where the eyelashes don’t grow correctly or when they come in inadequate amounts. As of now, LATISSE® is the only FDA approved prescription treatment for eyelash growth.

Gregory J. Liebscher, MD, FACS, is a Mayo Clinic-trained and board-certified plastic surgeon who provides many different cosmetic procedures such as LATISSE®. Schedule a free cosmetic consultation today:

Safety:

For patients currently taking prescription medication for lowering their eye pressure, or for patients with a history of eye pressure conditions, LATISSE® should only be used under the supervision of a physician. When using LATISSE®, clients may notice an increased brown pigmentation in their iris’, which may be permanent or even eyelid darkening that may be reversible.

What Are Common Side Effects of LATISSE®?

Reported by 4 percent of patients:

  • itchiness of the eyes
  • eye redness

Less common side effects that occur on the skin:

  • skin darkening
  • dryness
  • redness of the eyelids
  • eye irritation

If a patient develops an eye condition, such as an eye trauma, they should consult with their physician on whether or not they should continue LATISSE® applications.

Each patient notices different results. The experience of any cosmetic procedure is unique and the risks vary for each person. Most people have positive outcomes and experience no adverse side effects using LATISSE® for Eyelashes treatment.
